CryAstro Service Stations

CryAstro is the grease monkey automated one stop and shop for repairs, refueling and munitions restocking in Star Citizen alpha 2.5. These stations and I suspect others like them, are where you will get out of the fast lane so to speak to resupply. In the developmental stages of patch 2.5 these stations aren't really necessary as you can simply re-spawn your ship for free. Each time you self destruct, lose your ship or die, you spawn back at either Grim Hex or Port Olisar. If your ship is still intact somewhere in outer space you can use the terminal at Olisar to re-spawn or spawn a different ship on the landing pad. If your ship exploded you will either have to pay a small sum of UEC to gain early access to it, or just wait several minutes for the fee to reduce to zero. Regardless of this tasteless bypass of CryAstro services, it's not always going to be this way. CryAstro will be a key part of regular game play as Star Citizen progresses so it may be a good idea to get acquainted with them early on.
Landing on pads has been made increasingly easier as the games development progresses. It is no longer necessary to manually maneuver those clunky clumsy landings. Now the game allows you to quickly and easily land on a pad by first activating your landing mode "N" on your keyboard. This will drastically reduce your speed as well if you are coming in too hot. Once your landing gear has been deployed your HUD will change when you come within range of a pad you can land on. Appropriate landing pads for your ship size will be marked and outlined with green lines. You will see your ship above the target landing area on your HUD in this mode. From here when in range to the land you merely need press and hold "N" on your keyboard and the autopilot will land the ship gracefully for you.
Once you have successfully landed depending on the status of your restocking needs you will be immediately presented with 1-3 options. You will choose one or all of restock, refuel and or repair. You can choose one, all or none of these options. When you make a choice the UEC transfer for the CryAstro service is automatically deducted from your balance. As you can see from the images below a simple one time refuel from a hungry quantum fuel tank isn't cheap. Restock can be pricy at times as well depending on how many missiles you have depleted.
